Immigration Law

(619) 623-3644

Few areas of law today are as difficult and volatile as immigration. Even without the political elements, immigration law is exceedingly complex. In the United States, immigration law consists of Acts of Congress, regulations made by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and other administrative agencies and court cases interpreting those laws and regulations by both the federal courts and administrative proceedings inside USCIS.

At LTI LAW, APC, our attorney, Carlos Martinez, can help you navigate these difficult and complex issues. Mr. Martinez is fluent in Spanish and can help individuals and their families with a variety of immigration law matters, including visa applications and family petitions, as well as any other issue.

Very Complex, Technical Legal Questions

Much of immigration law is very technical. Forms and documents must be submitted properly and on time or the application will be denied. This is why the help of an experienced immigration attorney is so valuable.

Much of immigration law is a “foreign language,” even if English is your first language. Our immigration attorney understands that language and can translate it, so you can understand exactly what you must do in order to obtain asylum, a visa, an adjustment of status, permanent resident status (green card), I-601A waiver or prevent a removal or deportation.

Additionally, much of immigration law and practice are subject to change. Our lawyer stays up to date with current practice and procedure and can help you understand your options.

Deportation And Removal Proceedings

The prospect of a removal proceeding is frightening. If you have family in the U.S., a removal could leave you prohibited from returning for a decade or with a permanent ban. If you receive a Notice to Appear (NTA), contact LTI LAW, APC, as soon as possible. We may be able to liberate you during the removal process with bail.

We will challenge the charge of removability, and if the government fails to prove every element of the charge, the immigration judge may stop the removal. We will also submit any available ground for relief from removal, such as adjustment to permanent resident status, cancellation of removal and certain waivers of inadmissibility

We can also appeal to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), should that become necessary if an application is denied. Attorney Martinez also can represent you with criminal issues, such as a DUI, which can put even permanent resident status at risk for removal.
